“On 12 October 2023 in the framework of the Erasmus+ HWCA project, a team of experts from EU universities visited the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Reppublic of Kazakhstan, to assess its needs and capacities. Senior managers and teaching staff discussed with the team the main directions of the work on updating the curriculum of the Academy on water diplomacy and water governance, as well as retraining and research programmes offered for the teaching staff. Possibilities for exchange programmes and summer courses with the participation of Kazakhstani, Central Asian and EU univerisites were also presented by the Erasmus+ team. Cooperation with the Kazakh Chairmanship of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in the implementation of the Erasmus+ project was also discussed. Cooperation with the project, especially its research component, could enhance the capacity of EC IFAS to serve as an important regional forum for water diplomacy.”
